Co-founder & Chief Data Scientist
Hailed by Sasha Issenberg as “the most methodologically sophisticated opinion researcher working in Republican politics,” Alex Lundry is the Cofounder and Chief Data Scientist at Deep Root. Alex has worked as a political data scientist, pollster, microtargeter, data-miner and data-visualizer for presidential candidates, national organizations and Fortune 50 companies. As a pollster, he has conducted surveys and focus groups on everything from the race for the White House to Hollywood movies. He is one of the country’s leading experts on media and voter analytics, electoral targeting, and political data-mining, and has directed the data science efforts of two presidential campaigns. Alex’s data visualizations and infographics have been featured in Wired Magazine, Fast Company, and the Washington Post. He has served as statistics instructor at Georgetown and Johns Hopkins Universities, and in 2014 he was named one of the Top 50 Influencers in Politics by Campaigns and Elections Magazine.
Alex lives in Washington DC with his wife, three children and his bearded collie, Danger! Dog. Beyond his political talents, he excels at three things in life: 1) navigation, 2) catching things, and 3) killing flies. He is happy to demonstrate any of these upon request.
